About the Author(s)

Edward R. Ricciuti is the author of more than 80 books and thousands of articles. His books include Forensics 101, Wildlife Special Agent, and the Snake Almanac. Ricciuti has been in the field with law enforcement agencies in the United States and abroad. He has reported from places as diverse as the imperial palace of the Shah of Iran, the headquarters of the South African Police (SAP), scientific base camps on the African savanna, and the war zone in the former Yugoslavia. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Ricciuti was a Sloan-Rockefeller Advanced Science Writing Fellow at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a curator at the New York Zoological Society. He combined his expertise in science, nature, and conservation with crime reporting to report on the international illegal trade in wildlife.
