Summary

In 1939, Nazi Germany invaded Poland, starting World War II (1939–45) in Europe. Seeking to dominate the entire continent, Germany soon declared war on other nations, including France, Britain, and the Soviet Union. Many Americans argued that the United States should enter the war to help defeat Germany and restore peace to Europe. But other Americans argued that the United States should keep out of the conflict and let Europe resolve its problems on its own. Should the United States intervene in World War II, or remain neutral?

This eBook examines the debate over U.S. involvement in World War II and delves into the pro and con arguments that surrounded it. It includes a timeline, primary sources, a bibliography, and a "Learn More About" chapter with more information on the topic.
